Coronavirus - where are we now for cosmetic dentistry?

So after lots of precious family time, exercise, the filming of a few TikToks (!) and plenty of online consults, we remain at a stage where the dental clinics I offer treatment at in Manchester, Cheadle Hulme and Southport are unable to open. 

I wanted to write this to reassure all patients that plans are being put into place now, to ensure that when there is the green light to open, clinics can open safely and without delay – and the hope is that this shouldn’t be too far off.

In the meantime, it seems the time off has given lots of people the opportunity to focus on things they’d usually put to the back of the to-do list. And judging by the interest in my free online consultations – getting new smiles seems to be one of them. From composite bonding and composite veneers, to teeth straightening and full Smile Makeovers involving porcelain veneers, I’ve spoken to more than 70 patients via FaceTime about how we could improve their smile. I’m looking forward to meeting them in person once dental practices reopen for their face-to-face consultation.

When everyone’s so used to having their consultation in a dental surgery, I think there’s something quite unique about being able to speak directly to a dentist from the comfort of your own home – and discussing treatment options via video call. I was offering this service many months ago, but now it’s really come into its own and I’m pleased patients have responded so well to it.
